"We've Gone Green!"
The irony of pamphletting the neighborhood's windshields with glossy ads saying that you've gone green... is not lost on me

The Zen of the Drive Throught Car Wash
Like a great piece of music, it all begins harmlessly as you drive into the cave. Calmly enough with a drizzle of water, gently dripping down the windshield.
Then the foam comes and blacks out the light. The opaque foam shields the light and you can almost feel it as it oozes past your eyes.
Then, like thunder, the spinning rags come alive and beat against the walls of your cage. The anxiety builds as they slap the side view mirrors.
They stop. It's quiet again. The rains begins again. The green light comes on. It is time.
It is time to drive back into the sunshine.

Cheetos on Sale
Includes sizes between 2.125 and 2.375 oz. Do they really measure Cheetos down to the thousandth of an ounce?

Strange berries
I saw I little old lady eating these off the ground in a really bad neighborhood. They are about a half inch in diameter. What are they?

Lombard Street, San Francisco
Essentially the 101 freeway as is runs throught The City. There are times when this perspective is inspiring. The fog, the sunset, the Presidio in the background. Then a crackhead nearly jumps in front of your car and ruins your little moment.
Golden Gate Bridge
Even now, after having lived in San Francisco for 5 years, the grandeur of the bridge has not worn off. Part of that is its sheer mass, but I think what else lends to it is the fact that the fog is nearly a constant and it makes you feel like you are in the clouds.
101 North through Marin
It's been raining on and off for days. It seems to have backed off momentarily and the clouds look like a Rococo oil on canvas.

Breakfast st Kihei Caffe
I went with the breakfast burrito; being only gone for a week from California, I'm already craving Mexican food. Thay add chorizo which brings it to a certain level, but I'm clearly too far from the border to run for it.

Plate Lunch at Blazin' Steaks
I've been noticing that the plate lunches in Hawaii have been coming with a mixed of green salad instead of the standard mac salad.
Is it a conscious effort to deliver healthier options? Or, is it response to consumer demand. I wonder if this is just a sign of the times...

Cinnamon Roll Fair
Now that's what I call a cinnamon roll! Anyplace that picks one thing and runs with it is usually doing something right. This spot is called Cinnimon Roll Fair, 'nuf said?
OG Ride, 2008 Hyundai Sonata
Apparantly National Rental Car bought a new fleet of Hyundai's. It is strange renting a non-American car. Is this a sign of the times?

Very Old MG
I have no idea what year this is, I'd be off by a decade likely if I even tried. What immediately strikes me though is how small it is. That, and the wooden steering wheel.
Old Rocket Ship Toys
These are in a display in SF International called, "Out of This World," showcasing vintage space toys from the 1950's. Very cool.

Lemon Shaped Cutting Board
There's nothing better than cutting stuff on a cutting board shaped like what you're cutting, right?
Super Money Emergency?
I saw this at a check cashing place in San Bruno CA. Things must be bad when you have a super money emergency.

Why does my computer torture me?
I'm now getting a "physical memory dump" every few weeks (whatever that is). Sometimes it recovers, sometimes I have to reinstall Windows. My computer has become like a car without door locks - you just don't put anything important in it.
Wireless?
I found this at Staples. It boasts "Retracable cord with spring action!" - and it is clearly not wireless...

A Monkey's Birthday
When I was younger, my friend Kris told me that when it was raining but the sun was shining, it was called a "monkey's birthday." Has anyone else heard this before?
